Mr. Alfred Cheung Kin Ting, Director
Alfred is a famous movie director, film playwright and the host of pop television shows. With the unique dramatic approach, Alfred has trained numerous people from many large and multinational corporations. He also conducts one-on-one training to many CEOs and top corporate management. In 2007 Alfred led the team to coach for the candidate of Chief Executive in Hong Kong Mr. Leong Kah Kit, particularly in spoken discourse and presentation skills throughout the election campaign.

Alfred is a renowned director, playwright and actor in the Chinese movie and entertainment industry. Recently he has adopted the techniques of acting and directing in the training of corporate executives. As a director of Dramatic English, he helped to shape the direction of how drama can be applied in effective teaching.

Mr. Man Cheung, Director of Curriculum
Man has been involved with professional teacher training since 1993. A graduate of QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in Drama Education and Science he has developed and led programs for both public and private organisations. His unusual combination of arts and science has given him great insight into how students across the spectrum learn differently in different situations. A forward thinker in pedagogical approaches he has created many innovative programs to help students learn more effectively in a wide range of disciplines. English Across the Curriculum, Performing Arts Special Needs, Gifted and Talented Creativity, Performing Arts Excellence, Leadership, Parenting and the Teenager, A Non-Violent Approach to Violence were some of the programs he implemented before coming to Hong Kong in 2003 to create the Dramatic English Program to help local students use their English language skills and overcome their fear of using English. He has overseen over a 100 theatrical productions by adults and young artists as a writer, director and producer and has overseen the publications of the Dramatic English textbook series, including teacher books. He is passionate about helping teachers to find better ways to stimulate and inspire students


Mr. Luke Yick, C.E.O.
Luke was a teacher trainer with the faculty of education of the University of Hong Kong before he manages Dramatic English. His understanding of the needs of local teachers helped to shape the DE teacher development workshops to be well researched and practical. As a member of the HKU debate team while he was an undergraduate with the University, Luke was also very active in debating.

Mr. Sean Bilkey, Teacher Support Manager
Sean has been involved with the teaching of English as a second language since 1996, after graduating as a Bachelor of Creative Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Wollongong. His teaching experience has spanned across four countries, including Korea, Japan, Australia and Hong Kong. Sean draws on a wide range of skills and experience beyond traditional teaching, including life coaching, corporate training, behavioural change models, and outdoor team building workshops. This unique mix has seen Sean develop a dynamic and inspiring style of facilitation.

Matthew Gillespie, Chief Instructor, DE Studio
Matthew achieved his Masters Degree in Musical Theatre from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL in 1998. He worked with an arts connect program, which utilized the arts as a means of connecting to children in the hospital environment before coming to HK. He was on a board of directors where they explored the many ways in which people who have disabilities can have an equal opportunity to perform in and enjoy the arts. He has had the honour of performing innumerable times. He has directed, choreographed and taught music with many high schools and community theatres.
