This class is an advanced acting class for participants to further their knowledge of acting and learn new exercises and techniques useful in the classroom. Beside acting techniques, the class also provides excellent opportunities for participants to practice their Englis in a native English speaking environment.
Experienced Canadian director and acting teacher Robert Tsonos leads the group in advanced improvisation, scene study, text analysis, and in depth character analysis, all with the goal of creating emotionally vibrant, complex and engaging performances.
About Robert Tsonos
Robert Tsonos has spent 16 years as a director, writer, actor, teacher, and producer in Canada, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. He has been the Artistic Director of Sometimes Y Theatre for the past 10 years and was the resident director at the Canadian Embassy Theatre in Tokyo from 2003-2006.His most recent play “The Hum” was produced in Hong Kong this past May. His play “William & James” was produced as part of the 35th Anniversary Season at Theatre Passe Muraille, has been translated into French, and has also been produced in New York, Montreal and Ottawa with staged readings in Melbourne, and Washington. The play recently won the best play at the Harvest Festival 2006. His other plays include Sharnoozle! which toured international schools in Tokyo last year, the CBC Radio play “Ice Age”, as well as “I Am Not The One”, “Running - 3 short plays”, and the short film “Coffee Dogs”.
